One Woman's Tale.....

A STUDY IN REINCARNATION

In 1960 a man named Arnold Roxim was experimenting in regression. In regression people who believe they have lived in other times and in other places are able journey back to their past live under hypnosis. (AUTHOR NOTE: It should be noted here that I neither believe or disbelieve in reincarnation. This is meant as one interesting story and to give you information so that you may make up your own mind.)

One such woman in his studies was called Jane Evans. During her session she went back to birth and then beyond to 12 century York. She said her name was Rebbecca and that she was a Jew caught up in the uprising of 1190. She said she came to York Castle (Clifford's Tower) hoping to join her fellow Jewish community there. But when she arrived she discovered the gates closed and she was unable to enter. She was panic stricken and didn't know where to go or what to do.

She had to get away so she took off for the nearest church to seek refuge. These sessions were filmed, tape recorded (it was the 60's folks) and even later shown on TV.  Many experts of history, archeology and even the paranormal reviewed these documentations hoping to prove (or in most of their cases disprove) Roxim's claims of reincarnation.

The experts were fascinated by what they found. She knew details of 12 century York that only the most expert historians of york should know. In fact somethings she said were not understood until they did further research and that she filled in holes in their knowledge of the time. She it would seem knew even more than the experts.

She could describe the details of the church she ran to perfectly. She said it was the nearest church to the castle and once inside she rushed down the stairs to the crypt to where she hid. According to her the crypt had a great stone roof supported by many stone columns.

At this point the experts stepped in and said this simply couldn't be. In York there was only one church with a crypt and that was the Minster and she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt it was not the Misnter. So while she described the nearest church perfectly, the nearest church did not have a crypt.

So the experts said alright this was an interesting experiment but could not be used to prove reincarnation because quite frankly it was not based on facts.  And for most the story ended there.

AN UNLIKELY DISCOVERY

Castlegate was the nearest church and since it was cryptless the story had closed. That is until September of 1975 when the church was converted into a museum. During the construction process one of the workers accidentally knocked out part of one of the walls. They were shocked to find there was another room. No one knew this room existed. Three workers removed more stones until they found themselves sitting in a crypt of a much older church. A church that had in fact stood here before St. Mary's was built on top of it. The crypt matched in every detail to the one that Jane Evans had described.

Jana had said once Rebbecca arrived here she hid hoping she hadn't been seen by here persecutors.  But her hopes were in vein. She had been seen and followed to the church. Her persecutors searched the church and slaughtered her brutally and horribly.

In each of her regressions that Jane Evans gave when they reached this point she always ended with same words, "dark....dark...".  At the time of these regressions Jane was in her 30s and have never been to York and new little to nothing about the city's history. But under regression she was able to describe York as it was 800 years ago perfectly and in great detail. She filled in historian's knowledge and described a crypt that would only later be found. At this point the experts agreed that this was strong evidence for reincarnation.

Think what you will and form your own opinions, I know this has opened my eyes to possibilities....

  1. I actually have convinced a few people of "Past Lives" without my even believing it. There have been things I have described, places I've gone without having ever been there... In fact, Mr. R.A. is one of them with my crazy dreams of walking down cobble stone streets.

Strange things happen in life that defy explanation. I live for those moments.

  2. I have heard of some of these events. They certainly make for interesting conversations.

Of course you have yet to discover my super power....
